The wedding was held in Johannesburg, where we were seated next to each other and we thoroughly enjoyed each other's company. When the floor opened, Greg plucked up the courage to ask Simona to dance.
We added each other on Facebook and after the wedding, we went our separate ways. Simona back to London, Greg back to Pretoria.
Just one conversation on Facebook Messenger transpired, with Simona advising Greg to eat cake for his Birthday, and then the line went silent ... for two years.
While on a night out, Greg realised it would be a good idea to give his friends (that were letting him stay with them), a break. A shout out of appreciation to Phillip & Paulina Timveos and Shaun & Eleni Budlender to whom I am forever grateful.
Greg mentioned to Nico (pictured) that he was looking for a place to stay and Nico said that he knew someone that WASN'T looking for a flatmate but I should rest assured that I would move in within a few days.
Enter Maria (well entered into Greg's life) - Simona and Maria were already friends in London.
Maria (the friend Nico gave assurance about) allowed Greg to stay, (starting with a monthly minute-to-minute contract) - but she had a plan up her sleeve.
A brunch was arranged on the 16th June 2019. Greg didn't think Simona would remember him, but little did he know, there's very little Simona forgets.
From that day on, Greg and Simona spent a lot of time with each other, going on adventures around London, and even further up North to meet the couple, where this story started.
We officially started dating on the 27th October 2019, and the rest is history.
